School Age Summer Program

Summer Program – Camp Academy!

We designed our school-age summer program with the intent to fuse the benefits of education with the joy and freedom of summer break. We were kids once too(!), and we know how much our young friends value their time off from school! Our mission is to provide our students with opportunities for cognitive, linguistic, fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, and self-regulatory development while also allowing them to spend some time outdoors, create long-lasting memories with friends, and develop an inherent desire to learn about the world around them.

At Academy, we believe in the power of a captivating, multimodal approach to education. We provide our students with a variety of themes to explore, creating an engaging space that fosters the unique interests of each student. Our teachers have plotted out a dynamic schedule for the 2020 summer program, including weeks dedicated to the Tokyo Summer Olympics, Sustainability, Shark Week, and Crime Scene Investigation.

Field Trips

The Dukes & Duchesses & Spartans will take a field trip every day. We will visit the pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Mondays and Wednesdays being reserved for theme-related trips.

Library Visits

We will be visiting the Daniel Boone Regional Library one Friday per month. Students will be given time each day to read their library books. We will also participate in the DBRL Summer Reading Program as a whole class.

Service Projects

We are beyond excited to be implementing summer service projects this year! Students will be given the opportunity to give back to their community and contribute to causes they are passionate about.

Technology Use

Our students will participate in a variety of research projects this summer. We hope early exposure to technology will both promote internet safety and teach students to navigate the increasingly technological world.
