We are so excited about welcoming the warmer weather. We had a great month of April with the Week of the Young Child- the students loved all of the events. We also had a great spring party, thank you for all the parents that were able to join!

This month we will talk about families, transportation, and insects. We are starting to prepare for summer activities and enjoying the outdoors. Please remember to sign up for a conference slot! Also remember to check your child’s folder and cubby daily! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

We are very excited that Spring is finally here! We have been waiting for nice warm weather. We had a great month in March with Dr. Seuss and learning about different types of weather. The students also loved their visit from the leprechaun! In April we will talk about plants, children and feelings. As a reminder, we will no longer be doing show and tell in our classroom. Knights and Maidens Newsletter South: March 2014

We are excited about what the month of March will bring for our classroom. We are doing an author study on Dr. Seuss in celebration of his birthday. We will also be learning about weather and community helpers. In March, we will no longer be doing show and tell in our classroom. To keep home items safe, we would prefer them to stay at home. The school year is passing by quickly- it’s already February! Our class is excited about the fun activities and events we have planned for this month. The Academy will have its annual Sweets With Your Sweetie from 7-9 am on February 14th. We will also be having our classroom party on Valentine’s day at 3pm. Valentine’s will be exchanged the day of the party- we will send out a list the week of the party.

Thank you to all that attended the Thanksgiving feast. We are delighted by the number of families that could share the time with us. We are excited to see everyone at the production of the Nutcracker this year. The children have been working very hard for this event!

Knights and Maidens Newsletter South: October 2013

We have had a great start to the school year!  We will have a field trip to the Peach Tree Farms Pumpkin Patch on October 16th at 9:00 am.  If you would like to join, please be here before 8:30. There will be a sign up sheet on the door very soon so please be on the lookout.  We will be having school pictures on October 17th and 18th.  With the change in weather, please take the time to check your child’s cubby to make sure that there is an appropriate change of clothes in case they are needed.  We will continue to go outside, so please be sure to bring in a jacket as it might be cooler in the mornings.  As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Knights and Maidens South: August 2013

Where has the summer gone?!?  It is crazy to think in less than 3 weeks a new school year will begin!  Your children have been very busy learning about America’s Birthday, Amelia Bedelia, camping, and ocean animals.  For the next few weeks, we will be talking about ocean animals, our favorite activities and even learn about pirates.  Everyone has had a blast with water play this summer, and our last water play day is August 2nd so don’t forget your swim gear! 

We want to thank each and every one of you for allowing us to have your child in our classroom this year.  Your children are definitely hard workers and a joy to have!  It has been a wonderful year!

We will greatly miss them,

Knights and Maidens Newsletter South: July 2013

June was a great month. We had a great time at Shakespeare’s Pizza. For the Splash Pad please send your child in their swimming suit, bring a towel and change of clothes for when we are done. If you would like to go on the field trips, just please let us know.  The annual Academy Picnic will be held on August the 16thand more information is to come. Water Play will be on Thursday’s or Friday’s from 3:45-4:30 in July. We will post on the door what day water play is for the week. Miss Hannah is helping out in other classrooms for the rest of the summer and we now have Miss Monica in the morning and the afternoon.

Thank you so much for your generous gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week! We are all so grateful for your support and encouragement. We are excited about summer! As we prepare for the heat, please make sure your child’s cubby contains extra clothing appropriate for the season. Also, please be prepared for water play days! We will have them on Fridays, beginning June 7. Please equip your child with a swimsuit, a towel, extra clothes and water shoes. Thank you!!
