Lords and Ladies Newsletter East: March 2014

Learning about transportation throughout February certainly kept the children busy driving, cars, busses, vans, planes and many others.  We worked on various letters and the sounds they make along with sorting.  We look forward to continuing to practice these skills as we learn throughout the month of March! The Valentine’s Day party was a huge success with the much appreciated assistance of parents.  The children created their own Valentine’s Day mailboxes, made and enjoyed ice cream sundaes and enjoyed time with their friends and family. We also had a new friend join our class in February.  The Lords and Ladies have enjoyed having Charlotte as the newest member of the class!

February was a cold and snowy one this year…”burr” as many of the children would say.  Consequently we had a lot of inside time.  As the weather warms up we are looking forward with great anticipation to having more outside time.  Please be sure your child has an extra set of clothes in his or her cubby.

Dr. Seuss Week

Dr. Seuss’ birthday is quickly approaching as March 3rd sits right around the corner.  In celebration of his birthday and literary contributions, we will be implementing a Dr. Seuss themed week throughout the preschool.  Each day we will be reading a different Dr. Seuss book accompanied by a variety of related activities.  Please see the sign to find what exciting things will happen each day.

St. Patrick’s Day

We will be having a St. Patrick’s celebration on Monday, March 17th, at 3pm.  We will be tasting green food as we learn of this fun Irish holiday.

We are excited with the children’s progress both socially and cognitively this past month!  We are excited to see what March holds for the Lords and Ladies.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask.
