Pixies Newsletters East: March 2013

February Recap

We had a fun month filled with gross motor exploration and development. The Pixies also enjoyed some Valentine’s festivities with Sweets with Your Sweetie, and our Valentine’s Day Party. Thank you for your participation and for the snacks for the children!

Coming in March

This month we will be having a special celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. This will take place the first week of March, from the 4th -8th. On March 4th we will wear mixed up clothes. Some special activities we can look forward to this week will be various read a-loud from guest readers, as well as Dr. Seuss related arts and crafts. On Fri. we will have green eggs and ham for morning snack.  We hope this will be a fun week for everyone!

Also, in March we will begin talking about the signs of spring. As we get to spend more time outdoors, we will also take nature walks and talk about the things we notice, such as the sounds of birds chirping and buds on trees and flowers. This will also be a great way to incorporate colors, and animals into the children’s vocabulary. This will be a helpful skill for young children to be exposed to color identification, as well as the names of animals and the sounds they make. We look forward to a great month with your children! If you have any questions, comments or concerns please let us know.
