With the holidays behind us, many of us are ready to get back on a schedule! Consistency is key. When expectations for your child’s behavior are the same at home as they are at school, that message of consistency can provide comfort to your child. (ex. If your child puts their own coat on at school they probably can at home too!) Talk to your child’s teacher to see what independence your child exhibits at school to see if they can begin to mirror some of that at home. Simply having your child walk in the building and to their class versus being carried can make the difference between an easy or difficult drop off.
