Dukes and Duchesses East Newsletter: November 2011

October was another great month here at the Academy.  The Boo Blast was a great success and the children really seemed to enjoy themselves.  I know I had a blast seeing them all in their costumes and it certainly added to my love of all things Halloween.  Also this month, we finally saw the metamorphosis of our tadpole; sadly, our time with him was not meant to be and he has since moved on to “a great little pond up-state.”  The children handled this well and it turned out to be a great lesson in the circle of life.

Looking forward to the month ahead, I cannot believe that the Holiday Season is already upon us. (It seems like just last week I was going on daily adventures with the kids as we wiled away the summer.)  I realize that kids can easily lose sight of what Thanksgiving/Christmas is truly all about, so I will be looking into various ways to bring the spirit and joy of giving into our classroom.  I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but as always, I love hearing and am always open to your suggestions.

Between the Thanksgiving Feast, preparing for the Nutcracker and bracing ourselves for another long winter, we are sure to be quite busy this month, but as they say, time flies when you are having fun! See you in the classroom!!
