Lords & Ladies Newsletter East: August 2011

July Happenings

The Lords and Ladies have been busy as usual learning about various summertime activities throughout the month of July.  We learned all about camping, baseball, and seasons of the year!  The children especially enjoyed talking about different camping activities from fishing and swimming to hiking and cooking smores.  We also learned about mixing different colors when painting to create new colors.  In addition to our weekly themes and letters, the children have been learning and practicing the pledge of allegiance.  Ask your child to say it with you and you may be pleasantly surprised!

Kenny, Quentin, and Jeremiah joined our class from the Jesters classroom during the month of July.  Ellie will also be joining us from the Jesters classroom at the beginning of August.  We look forward to continuing to share exciting days and fun times with our new friends!

Elizabeth and Ainsley both celebrated their 3rd birthdays at the end of July.  We loved being able to celebrate with them!  Zachary will also be celebrating his 3rd birthday at the beginning of August!  Happy birthday!

Academy Closings

The Academy will be closed Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day   We hope you enjoy the extra time with your family and friends!

Annual Academy Family Picnic

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Annual Academy Family Picnic!  The picnic is scheduled for Friday, August 5, 2011, at our East location.  The picnic begins at 6pm.  We look forward to spending a fun-filled evening with you and your family!

August Plans

We are excited to begin a new school year in August.  Accordingly, we will be beginning our phases of learning soon!  We are also looking forward to spending time dedicated each week to exploring a color or shape not only in the academic setting but in the world around us as well.

Outdoor Fun

We wanted to thank you parents for your assistance throughout the summer in ensuring your child has had the needed clothes and shoes for water play day.  The children have been having a blast!  Thank you for applying sunscreen before they arrive at school as well.  By doing so, we have been able to spend more time playing!  Thank you for all of your help!

The Lords and Ladies have been having a blast running through the sprinklers during water play this month!  As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to speak with Mr. Jordan or us.
