Daily Routines

As summer winds down and we get back into the school mode, it is important to reestablish routines. In the classroom we establish the daily schedule and post a pictorial timeline for them to refer to. By maintaining these routines in the classroom, the children know what to expect and are less likely to become upset by not getting their way throughout the day. While you are not likely to make it quite as formal as we do in the classroom, the same theory will work in your home life. By doing the same things, in the same order at approximately the same times, your child will know what to expect and will be less likely to challenge particular tasks.
