Lords and Ladies Newsletter East: June 2011

May Happenings

Throughout the month of May, we kept busy learning not only our letters, numbers, and words, but also about different springtime creatures.  We talked about the caterpillar turning into a butterfly, families, and things you find in the sky.  We enjoyed celebrating Conor’s birthday with him, his dad, and sister.  Many friends also enjoyed spending time with their mothers for Muffins with Mom.

Thank You!

We wanted to send a special thank you to all of our parents for the treats given to us during teacher appreciation week!  They were delicious!

We would like to welcome many new friends to our classroom as well as our new teacher.  Lillian, Bri, and Evie joined Lords and Ladies from the Jesters classroom while our new friend Ainsley recently began attending the Academy at the beginning of May.  We would also like to welcome Ms. Renae, a new teacher in the Lords and Ladies classroom.  We are thrilled to have so many new people and look forward to a summer filled with friendship!

Donuts with Dad

The Academy will be hosting our annual Donuts with Dad on Friday, June 17th, from 7am – 9am in observance of Father’s Day.  We hope that you will be able to share a donut with your child on this special morning!

Academy Closings

The Academy will be closed Monday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.

Water Play Days

As the weather becomes hotter with summer, we are looking forward to participating in a water play day each week.  Please be sure your child has a towel, swimsuit, swim diapers/pull-ups, sunscreen, and any other water play items to keep in their cubby at school.

The Academy Garden

The East location of the Academy of Early Childhood Learning recently started a garden.  The children loved the opportunity to help teachers and parents plant vegetables and fruits!  Thank you to everyone who donated plants and/or their time to assist us in teaching the children about such an important part of life!

May has been a blast with our new friends.  We look forward to the summer days when we can have water play days!  As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to speak with Mr. Jordan or us.
