Lords & Ladies Newsletter East: January 2011

Dear Lords & Ladies Families,
Welcome to 2011!  It’s always exciting to start a new year and this one is no exception.  As we move through January we will continue to observe changes in the world around us.  We spend lots of time noticing weather changes and investigating the animals and plants that live near our school.

Coats and boots and hats, oh my!
As the weather gets colder and colder it will become increasingly important that your child has a cubby that is fully stocked with all the winter necessities.  Please make sure that your child has a warm coat, mittens, and a hat  to wear on the playground.  Whenever possible, we will go outside if only for a few minutes.  A little bit of fresh air can do a world of good!  As with anything you bring to school, please make sure each item is labeled with your child’s name.

Thank you!

Thank you to all the parents who contributed to our Christmas party and who came to cheer for the children in their performance of The Nutcracker.  Both were a great success.  We also greatly appreciate the generous gifts given to our classroom.  The children have really enjoyed getting to explore their new toys.

Happy Birthday!
The Lords & Ladies would like to wish all of our friends with January birthdays, a very happy birthday!

We want to welcome our new friends to the Lords & Ladies class!

Academy Closed
The Academy will be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 17th, for a teacher work day.  Enjoy the long weekend!

As always, thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us.  We are excited to see them continue to grow, learn, explore, and play in the New Year.

Ms. Elizabeth
