Jesters Newsletter East: September 2010

Welcome to the month of September!

The Jesters are having a great time getting to know our new friend Zachary from the Pages. Naya, Grace, and Alex moved to the Lords and Ladies room and we still get to play with them outside! We will continue to practice classroom routines and review classroom expectations to help all Jesters get well adjusted.

The annual picnic was a great success.  Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed an evening of fun with us!

September begins the first of the school year in the Jesters class and we will be working on skills and concepts from phase 1 in our curriculum.  If you have any questions about these concepts please feel free to ask.

Potty Training

Many of the Jesters are working hard at potty training.  It is important to encourage this at home, however it is not beneficial to force this on the child.  To assist your child in learning this skill you can work with them on independently dressing and pulling clothes on or off.  You can also practice sitting on the toilet, flushing, and using toilet paper when appropriate.  Please continue to monitor your child’s cubby to check for soiled clothes or to replenish any spare clothing.

Important Dates:

September 6- Academy closed in observance of Labor Day

September 16- Back to school night

Thanks,

Ms. Camille
