Lords and Ladies Newsletter East: August 2010

Welcome to August at the Academy!  The summer has been moving by very quickly, and we are continuing to enjoy water play, playing with our worm farm, and watching our plants grow.  Lords and Ladies learned about Independence Day (and Canada Day!) early in July before moving on to studying dinosaurs and continuing to work on verbally spelling names and practicing writing letters. In August, we will be doing a lot of exploration with water, experimenting with different methods of painting, and working on collages.

The new school year will begin on Monday, August 23rd. Please remember to mark all of your child’s personal belongings (diapers, clothes, blankets, sippy cups, etc) with their name. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of bringing tennis shoes on the day your child wears sandals.  It is safer for the children when we play outside on the trikes and climber.  Thank you!

Goodbye and Welcome

During the month of August some of our friends will be moving up.  We wish the best of luck to all of them. Welcome to our new friends from the Jesters class.  We are glad to have you join our class.
